Opening Meet
Join us for our Second Opening Meet at Coosaw Plantation! This fun and festive event marks the start of our formal hunting season!
Hound Walking at Bit O’Heaven
The dog days of summer are here and you're invited to join us for another Hound Walking with our pack of American and cross-bred foxhounds. This is an adventure on foot (no horses invited) to exercise our hounds! We will meet to help our happy houndies stretch their legs. We'll start at 9am sharp.
This event is complimentary for Salt Marsh Hounds members and anyone is invited to join. If you're joining as a guest or just want to help spoil our hounds, we kindly request you please bring a box of dog biscuits to donate to our hounds.
On arrival at Bit O'Heaven, please use the second gated entrance to the barn. We will meet at the barn before starting our walk at 9am sharp.

Back by popular demand! We're loading the trap house yet again for an evening of skeet shooting fun at Bit O' Heaven followed by a grill & chill BBQ.
Whether you're a seasoned sharp shot or a new shooter who hasn't ever stepped on a trap field, we're meeting up to enjoy a summer evening with SMH members and friends.
No shotgun? We've got you covered. Cartridges are $15/box cash and instruction is available.

We're keeping the Salt Marsh community lively with Summer Socials while the hounds enjoy their summer vacation. Trade your hunt coat for your shooting vest and join us for an evening skeet shoot at Bit of Heaven followed by wings night at Harold's Country Club!
We'll kick things off with a friendly round of skeet shooting at Bit of Heaven before gathering at Harold's for Wings night.

Salt Marsh Social: Edisto River Adventures
Pack your cooler and practice your best doggy paddle! With temps heating up us COOL foxhunters are trading saddle time for Summer Socials. Yes, we really do love being together that much!
You don't have to be a SMH member to come as this event is open to all. And if you've not met us before and you're coming out to join us for the first time, we know you wont leave as a stranger.
On Saturday June 13th, Join us for a river float with Edisto Island Adventures. We're all meeting up at 10am for a day of floating fun. (Don't worry, We'll have SMH Sparkle Club pins for anyone who gets bucked off their tube involuntarily.)

Float Trip and all equipment needed to comfortably Float the Edisto
After Tubing Fun - All the volleyball, corn hole, spike ball, giant jenga, cabana/swings, food truck, picnic tables, and conveniences/essentials like port o lets, shower, changing rooms on their private sandbar
Shuttle Back to Car - You won't need to drive two cars or load up in wet clothes and deflated wet tubes on the car ride home. Ediso River Adventures handles it all and gets you back to your car via their shuttle service.

Salt Marsh Social: Puppies & Pints
The summer heat might slow down our time together in the saddle, but that doesn't mean the Salt Marsh Hounds community needs to go quiet.
We're gathering Friday night, May 22nd, at 7pm at Shellring Ale Works in Port Royal, SC for a lowkey SALT MARSH SOCIAL and spoiler alert, the next generation of Salt Marsh Houndies are making an appearance. Yes, you read that right, we're bringing our pups.
Come meet our puppies, share some pints, and kick off summer the Salt Marsh way. We'll meet up at 7pm if you'd like to join us.
Spring Trail Ride at Cotton Hope
Welcome to our Spring Trail Ride Series! These rides are open to everyone- an opportunity to enjoy the scenic coastal countryside, spend time with friends, and enjoy the spring riding season with Salt Marsh Hounds. This ride is a group ride and will be grouped by pace and ability. Green riders and horses are always welcome.
Here are some more specifics that you need to know to join in the fun:
• Directions - Set your GPS for 395 Washington Farm Road, Seabrook, SC 29940. (GPS Coordinates 32°34'58.2"N 80°42'28.1”W) Park neatly so everyone can fit!
• Arrival Time - Plan to arrive at least 30-45mins ahead of time to check in and prepare yourself and your horse. Our ride begins promptly at 10 am with riders and guides moving off for the approximately 1 - 1.5 hour trail ride. No stragglers, please!
• Waiver & Coggins - A Signed SMH Waiver and proof of negative coggins are required. You can download here and sign ahead of time and email both or bring them along. Waivers will also be available the day of.
• Turn Out - Any tidy attire, any discipline, any tack. Green horses and green riders welcome. Riders will be grouped by pace and ability to ensure a safe and enjoyable time for all.
• Suggested Donation - These events are complimentary for members. A donation of $25 is suggested for guests. Feel free to donate ahead of time or day of.
• Potluck Lunch - Bring a dish to share and your beverages of choice. A potluck lunch under the oaks will follow after our ride. Don’t forget to bring a chair and pack water for your horse.
