FAQs

  • You’ll need a signed waiver and proof of a negative coggins. A $25 donation is appreciated but not required.

  • Each ride is 1.5 to 2 hours long and organized the same way as a traditional Hunt - into “fields” or groups of riders led by a Fieldmaster who guides the pace and sets the tone.

This ensures everyone enjoys the day safely, while riding at the speed and style that suits them best.

    • First Field
For those who enjoy keeping up closely with hounds and riding at a more forward pace. First Field often takes the quickest line across country, including gallops and jumping when available.

    • Second Field
A more moderate group, following the hounds at a steadier pace. Riders may jump optional fences or go around, and the focus is on enjoying the hunt at a walk, trot, and canter, without pressing too hard.

    • Third Field / Hilltoppers
Perfect for newcomers, young riders, or those who prefer a relaxed ride. This field follows the action at a distance, often sticking to good ground and safe footing, with plenty of time to take in the countryside and camaraderie at a walk and trot.

  • Contact us for information on available hirelings.

  • A helmet is always recommended. Each trail ride will be followed by a potluck lunch. Bring a snack to share and drinks of your choice. Don’t forget to pack water for your horse!
